Plan B Pill

Plan B Pill

Plan B is a type of emergency contraception. Typically, this is taken after having unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy from occurring. Other terms for this pill are “the morning-after pill" or "emergency birth control" and is not to be confused with the Abortion Pill/RU486.

Depending on the brand you choose, it must be taken within 3-5 days after having unprotected sex. The longer you wait to take the pill after sex - the results become less effective. If you've conceived and a pregnancy has already developed in the uterus, the Plan B pill will have no effect on terminating a pregnancy. It is only meant to prevent, not abort.
